So I've had to ground the investigation to a halt, thanks to unforeseen circumstances. Then again, I guess I should've figured the Barge would've started throwing all this crap my way, the minute someone tries to make sense of this place. The whole thing in the cafeteria's been cleared up though, right? There's some guy who all but confessed to it in zero, anyway, so I guess we should count our blessings we're not running around with our heads in our asses about that.

[There's the sound of some shuffling and then the video feed clicks on, revealing a teenage boy. Who is not Misato and although you can only see him from the chest up, it's very clear he's wearing Misato's dress. NOT ONLY IS MISATO HER WARD, SHE'S A CROSSDRESSER.

She is so unamused]

Admiral, I really needed to talk to you about something, but since you're a little busy being a lousy driver, I'll hold off.

[Misato was going to make a point to talk about port, but.... The moment's passed. ASSUME SHE GAVE AN AWESOME PEP TALK TO HER TEAM WHEN THEY TURNED UP NAKED. And then strolled off to find her clothes. And she's been avoiding talking to Laura, since SHE FEELS REALLY BAD THAT SHE DIED. And being the soldier that she is, working with a group of mostly civilians, she kinda blames herself.

In the past week, there's been three reported cases over the journals of Inmates- and in one case, a Warden- gaining powers they didn't have previously. I can't be the only one who has questions about this, right? Especially after the weird power surges some of the Inmates had last month.

With the rest of the Wardens' support, I'd like to conduct an investigation into the matter. Maybe we can nip this in the bud before someone gets an ability and uses it to hurt someone or, God forbid, blows up half the Barge, accidentally.

[Misato has a MASSIVE HANGOVER, because last night she was drinking heavily for some reason, so naturally the amount of drunkeness is GETTING ON HER LAST NERVE. Normally, she'd be partying it up and being handsy, but... No, she has to be the mature responsible one.]

This can't last forever, right? Can you even get alcohol poisoning from breathing 100% alcohol in the air? Or whatever the hell this flood is?

Ugh. I feel like I'm in college again. Loki! Are you affected by this? If you are, get down here right now. I'm not picking your drunk ass off the floor later.

[Misato clicks on her transmission and there's little other than woozy murmuring. All and all, it's not a BAD death toll, compared to some, but her head's really foggy and the painkillers aren't helping. When she finally does speak, she sounds distant and far away.]

Well. As far as floods go, I think that one could've been a lot worse, huh? I think the worst that happened is the second floor common room has a new paint job, and, honestly, I think it looks better that way.

Like Rube said, the second floor common room has snacks and I've pilfered some arts and crafts supplies and set them up, so if any of you kids want something constructive to do that isn't terrorizing the Barge, you can go there and enjoy to your heart's content. Or your Wardens can send you, in which case, you can just suck it up and deal.

I don't know if you've found Bela yet, but she's affected and she's mute and I'd really strongly advise against putting her with the rest of the kids, but if you need somewhere to put her for a bit, I think she'd really like Dr. Hix's class and it'll probably be small enough not to overwhelm her.

...Not that I'm trying to micromanage your Inmate or anything. I just have... Experience with mute children.

[The transmitter clicks on. Misato sounds a little pissed.]

Goddammit. I'm fine. There's enough people in here without me hogging one of the beds. Just let me out, already. I'm not hurt enough to stop doing my damned job.

Loki! Sound off! Where are you? You didn't get caught up in any of that out there, did you?

[She takes a moment to breathe. Right. She's calm. She's not exactly presenting an air of leadership here.]

Jesus. At least it's all over now.

[Another pause. She sounds a little more worried now.]

Hey, Tony? Did you get out of that okay?

[[OOC: Misato got a little bit stabbed in the raid on the Barge by Cole. :| It's okay. She totally KICKED HIM IN THE HEAD FIRST.]]

 

[Misato is sitting somewhere public- one of the common rooms, maybe. She's the very picture of serious.]

I know Tosh did a roll coll of people as soon as we crashed, but we've had a lot of people leave and call me paranoid, but the odds aren't in anyone's favor that they actually got back okay, so if you're still on the Barge, give me your name and what you're currently doing. I have a feeling we're gonna have company pretty soon, so I wanna make sure everyone's prepared. If you're not sure what you should be doing, then please come see me in the Level Four common room.

On that note, I'd give you guys a full defense briefing when we've figured one out, but the network's not secure, so our best bet is something off-network. Either we gather everyone into one of the common rooms or the dining hall and talk it out or rig up a speaker system so no one has to leave their posts just to listen to someone make announcements. Tosh? Anyone? Do you think you can fix something up like that?

Also, anyone who leaves the Barge from this point on, please report in and then report back when you get back here. I wanna be able to keep track of who's still with us and who could be in trouble. I understand the need to keep an eye out for each other and getting your Inmates back in one piece, but we won't be able to do anything if the Barge gets taken. I know this is probably gonna be a very unpopular opinion amongst some of you, but repairing and protecting the Barge must be our top priority.

[For the next part of this, Misato looks directly into the camera and glaaares, obviously speaking to whoever might be out there listening.]
